Lesson 9.  Google Maps

Google Maps is a web mapping service that offers aerial and satellite views of geographical regions and sites around the world. The services of Google Maps include: street maps, 360º panoramic views of streets (Street View), real-time traffic conditions (Google Traffic), and route planning for travelling by foot, car, bycicle or public transport.

Google maps is a helpful marketing tool for businesses as it lets people know where they are located and to tell them that at a specific area, there is a business that offers the product or service they require.

Advantages of using Google Maps for a business:

  • Drive awareness of your company. Consumers learn about your presence and where they can find your company.
  • Connect with your customers. Helps people find, share, rate, and recommend your business.
  • Build trust with customers. Allows consumers to put a face to your company's name, which increases their comfort level.
  • Helps research process. Google Maps street views helps by allowing potential customers to take a virtual tour before visiting.
  • Attract local target audience.
